What is Learning Science?

Learning science uses a combination of data, research and practices to discover ways instructors can improve their teaching, while exploring ways to help students learn more effectively. The science of learning draws from many disciplines, such as cognitive neuroscience, data science, learning analytics, educational psychology and behavioural economics. Using all of these fields of study, McGraw Hill designs learning solutions that are powerful, yet adaptable to the rapidly changing needs of students and educators across Asia and beyond.

How We Apply Learning Science

McGraw Hill’s learning scientists use innovative tools and approaches to study how learning happens and how educators teach. Our learning solutions and technologies are continuously evolving and being validated based on the latest research and findings in their fields of study.

We have applied data science to analyze billions of learning interactions happening within our technologies, identifying trends, patterns and areas where were we can improve learning at the individual and organizational levels. These deep insights help us to develop more personalized and effective learning experiences for students and more efficient and informative teaching tools for instructors.
